The Mississippi Pot Roast is a simple, set-it-and-forget-it recipe that guarantees a melt-in-your-mouth, fork-tender pot roast. You place a beef roast in the slow cooker with a packet of ranch seasoning, a packet of au jus gravy mix, a few pepperoncini peppers, and a bit of butter. Let it cook low and slow for hours, and when it’s ready, you’ll be rewarded with a juicy, flavorful roast that falls apart with the touch of a fork. - 3-4 pounds Chuck Roast
- 1 packet Ranch Dressing Mix (we use Hidden Valley)
- 1 packet Au Jus Gravy Mix (we use McCormick)
- 1/2 stick Butter (salted or unsalted)
- 8 ounces Peperoncini with juice (half of a 16 ounces jar)
Place roast in crock pot (add seasonings and sear the roast if you like however we do neither), pour ranch mix and au jus gravy mix on top of roast, add half or 8 ounces of a 16 ounce jar of peperoncini with juice and add 1/2 stick of butter (salted or unsalted).
Cook on low for 8 hours or until meat is fork tender.
Serve with rice, mashed potatoes or noodles. Add the vegetable of your choice for an easy, balanced, stress free meal.
